A Foot Health Practitioner (FHP) is a trained professional who helps keep your feet healthy, comfortable, and in good condition. We play an important role in preventative care, particularly for older adults, people with diabetes, and those with reduced mobility—helping to manage ongoing issues and prevent more serious complications.

However, if you’ve purchased a treatment yourself—whether from a pharmacy or online—we will be happy to apply it for you during your appointment. In fact, many topical treatments work better after professional care, such as nail reduction or removal of hard skin, allowing the medication to penetrate more effectively.

FHPs work closely with other healthcare providers, and if a condition requires further investigation or treatment, we can refer you to a podiatrist or GP when needed.

It's important to know...

We are qualified to assess and treat a wide range of common foot problems, including thickened nails, corns, calluses, cracked heels, and ingrown or fungal nails.

While Foot Health Practitioners are highly skilled in hands-on care, it’s important to know that we are not legally allowed to prescribe or supply medication. This includes both prescription-only treatments and some over-the-counter remedies, such as fungal nail lacquers or verruca gels, unless specifically licensed to do so.
